The Silent Epidemic: HIV and Hepatitis C Co-Infection Training

To keep individuals abreast of information, this training manual was developed by staff of the Duke University-Health Inequalities Program-Training Sector and Piedmont HIV Integrated Community Access System in partnership with NC Central University Health Education Senior Associates, and other community partners. Community education training programs are provided to health educators, social workers, case managers, PLWHA (Person Living with HIV/AIDS), substance abuse counselors, and the community at large to promote HIV and HCV testing, remove stereotypes and misconceptions, and give a basic understanding of disease and the importance of maintaining care.

The training manual is a tool that can be implemented into existing HIV/STD community education prevention programs. Depending on agency or program format, trainings can be tailored or adapted into multi-sessions or a day long event. Moreover, materials, such as worksheets, brochures, case studies, icebreakers, etc. are provided to you and your participants.
